Pontycymmer Bus Stop Gets The Green And Gold Treatment
Volunteers and politicians picked up their paint brushes this weekend as AM Huw Irranca-Davies and MP Chris Elmore joined Pontycymmer volunteers to paint the bus stop on Oxford Road. The duo joined local Councillor Rod Shaw and volunteers in painting the run down bus stop in the colours of the local rugby team (Pontycymmer RFC).
Cllr Rod Shaw said: “It’s a great project which gives life to the area for very little cost. Thank you to everyone for their support. I hope to organise more community events just like this.”
Chris Elmore MP said: “What a fun morning! Great set of people and something as simple as a lick of paint really does give it a new lease of life.”
Huw Irranca-Davies AM added: “The Pontycymmer RFC colours mean you won’t be able to miss the bus stop! The green and yellow look terrific.”
The event was the first Community Activity Day organised by the Cllr Shaw and local community activist Neil Allcock.
