Pencoed Twinning Association Blooms!

Pencoed Town and District Twinning Association were pleased to welcome Anne Rose to Pencoed Welfare Hall for a colourful floral demonstration. The event was also attended by Ogmore MP Huw Irranca-Davies and Deputy Mayor John McArthur.

In front of a large crowd, Anne produced stunning floral arrangements – which were later raffled – and amused the audience with tales of her long and distinguished career in the flower industry. Starting as a young floral apprentice in London, she went on to exhibit at the Chelsea Flower Show with Interflora and the Townswomens Guild, and is also a member of NAFAS and the Flower Guild of Lincoln Cathedral.

Ogmore MP Huw Irranca-Davies said “It is wonderful to see the Twinning Association going strong, and adding much to the social and cultural life of Pencoed. I look forward to more events in the coming months, and would urge people to come along and support these great events.”

The event was chaired by Wendy MacDonald, and promoted by Mark Steer, both of the Townswomens Guild. For future events by the Pencoed and District Twinning Association please see the Pencoed Community facebook pages.
