Paul Popham Fund Raises Awareness of Chronic Kidney Disease for World Kidney Day

The Paul Popham Fund Renal Support Wales – a charity set up in memory of Paul Popham who lived over half his life with kidney disease – aims to support Kidney Patients in leading a better quality of life.

The Charity offers a Befriending Service to help give advice and support to Kidney Patients that will benefit their physical and psychological well-being as well as supporting the improvements of facilities.

At an event in Cardiff recently Ogmore Assembly Member Huw Irranca-Davies and colleagues were provided with a showcase of the charity’s work in conjunction with world Kidney Day with their 2017 theme ‘Kidney Disease and Obesity’.

Following the event Huw said: “Good to meet with members of the charity and to help raise awareness of Kidney Patients and of the charity.  We need to draw the public’s attention to the importance of kidney health- what can be done to protect kidneys before disease strikes, and to assist patients who already have chronic kidney disease”.
