Keep our ‘Six Nations’on free-to-view channels

The UK Government has refused to add the Guinness Six Nations rugby tournaments to an ‘A’ list of sporting events which must be made available to watch live on free-to-air channels.

A group of Welsh Labour Members of the Senedd have added their support to Welsh MPs’ calls for the beloved Six Nations rugby tournament to remain on free-to-view channels for the benefit of Welsh fans and to encourage grassroots participation.

Organised by Huw Irranca-Davies MS,  the Senedd Members have jointly signed a letter to the Welsh Rugby Union requesting they strongly resist any moves to place the matches behind paywalls. They have also asked for assurances from the WRU that it will do everything in its power to keep Welsh rugby on free-to-view television.
