Huw Visits Innovative Local Food Producer with Welsh Government Minister

Samosaco, based in Pontyclun is a leading producer of a range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free Indian products. Starting out as a small family-run business in Toronto before moving to Wales, they have the only purpose-built samosa making factory in Wales.

Now providing the finest range of products to some of the biggest food retailers in the UK, as well as many of the smaller, local retailers, the company have displayed their success at the BBC Good Food Show, Euro Disney, Belfast and many, many other festivals.

The successful company were also short-listed to one of ten leading Welsh food innovation companies, to attend the London based annual event ‘Food Matters Live’, held in the ExCel, dedicated to food, health and nutrition.

Welsh Government Environment & Rural Affairs Minister Lesley Griffiths and local Assembly Member Huw Irranca-Davies were invited along to their home in Pontyclun to sample many of the spicy delights whilst learning how the company have developed into one of the UK’s leading producers of Indian snacks. Listed as ‘food with history, tradition and soul’, the offerings did not disappoint with both the Minister and Ogmore AM praising the food and success of the company.
