Ogmore MP, Huw Irranca-Davies, recently visited the Brit Growers ‘Our Garden’ project in Gilfach Goch to open their new community garden shop.

With the opening of their new shop Brit Growers continues its expansion and now provides even more to the local community. The organisation has been called an ‘inspiration to groups across Wales’ by Keep Tidy Wales and has been awarded the prestigious ‘Highly Commended Certificate’ for the work they have done.

Mr Irranca-Davies said:

‘Brit Growers continues to improve the lives of Evanstown residents and make an already beautiful part of the Valleys into somewhere truly outstanding. By providing a community growing space for rare and native Welsh fruit trees Brit Growers is doing a valuable service to our community and the entire of Wales.’

‘With the official open of their new community garden shop they have continued to expand and become an even better organisation. I encourage everyone in Gilfach Goch to go along and see for themselves the great work being done by Brit Growers.
